Many clients tell me they can't keep up with technology while managing the day-to-day operations of a business. My job is to empower them with the tools and training needed to easily integrate information systems into their business processes.  I like to think of myself as a "tech coach."

About Me

I took a very long and winding road to the realization that a career in design was not only possible, but what I was meant to do.

I completed my undergraduate degrees in Criminology and Psychology at Florida State University. The short version of the story is that I was forced to choose a major. The long version is that I knew what I wanted to do, but didn’t think I could make a career out of it, so I chose majors that seemed “practical.”

I always knew higher education was in the cards, but promised myself I wouldn’t make such a huge commitment of time and energy unless I was absolutely sure of the program. I stumbled onto Full Sail University's Education Media Design and Technology Master's Program quite by chance. As a graphic designer and web developer, I would occasionally visit the Full Sail web site just to see what the “cool kids” were doing. When I read about the EMDT program, I got goosebumps and leapt from my chair in a happy dance.

Through the years I continually refine my vision of what's possible in a design-related career. It’s become harder and harder for me to define what I do… and not only what I do… but what I'm capable of doing. I'm operating at intersection of my interests and talents.

Instead of pigeonholing myself with labels – graphic artist, web developer, instructional technologist – I am content to conclude that I am, simply or not so simply, a designer. For all purposes.

I currently work as an Associate Course Director for Full Sail University's Education Media Design & Technology Master's Program and enjoy supporting business development through el Wray Design.
