The Evolution of Design: Cell Phones

Remember when cell phones were bigger than a bread basket? Yet now, by comparison, they're unimaginably powerful micro machines?

While doing some spring cleaning (albeit mid-September), I came across my 3 previous cell phones.  After taking a quick stroll down memory lane... My first text (LOL)... My first camera phone (CHZ)... My first bill (OMG)... I marveled at just how dramatically mobile device technology has improved in recent years.

Cmon! Most of the time I don't even drag my laptop around when I travel anymore! That says a lot for someone who's business and livelihood depend on computers and internet access.

To prove my point, this entire article was composed and posted from my phone... Including the picture.

What's next?

Great post Em :) I imagine what's next is some way to incorporate future technology into a wearable device with projection and accessible from hand gestures...I watched a speaker working on this in a TED video.. very cool :)
Also, if you wanted to put those old phones to good use, Donate it! :) The Harbor House here in Orange county collects mobile phones, refurbishes them. Then provides them to domestic violence survivors free of charge so they are able to seek emergency services immediately, saving their lives and their children. Also the supply the postage!

Hope all is well in your world! :)
