The challenging part of working with Julie, or any other creative, is finding a way to elevate their art/vision through my design. For example, when we worked on Julie's web site, we decided it needed to be a blank canvas, like a wall in a gallery, to showcase her work.

So when Julie asked me to help create new merchandise tags and a banner for her upcoming appearance at the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago on September 11-12th...

...let's just say I was honored!

The Renegade is a unique collection of indie artists from all over the nation, showcasing their incredible talent in crafting handmade goods. Being chosen to exhibit at The Renegade is no small feat, so a BIG CONGRATS to Julie for being selected and a BIG THANKS for enlisting my help with the marketing materials.

This is what Julie had to say about our recent collaboration:

"I feel like you looked at my work and created something that really represents what I am doing."

August's lucky winner is... Cyndy Hughes!

For those of you curious as to how Cyndy was selected as this month's winner, let me assure you, it was a highly scientific process.

When a user subscribes to my mailing list, they are issued an ID number. When it was time to select the winner, I generated a random number using an online random number generator. I then matched the random number to the subscriber's ID. Viola!

I will be giving away another 2 hours of service next month, so if you haven't already subscribed... Do it here!

And to all my early bird subscribers, don't worry, you will remain eligible to win.

Books like Rework, The E-Myth and The 4 Hour Work Week had a huge impact on my shifting paradigms of work, wealth and what I wanted out of both.

After I recovered from that Michael Gerber describes as the "entrepreneurial seizure" (the fit that ensues when you're sure you've got a brilliant idea), I realized that I need a basic road map to get me where I'm going.

Through all my research, no where did I more practical how-to information on setting up a sustainable lifestyle business than in Chris Guillebeau's Empire Building Kit.

Chris has developed a unique business course based on the idea of baby-stepping toward your goals. As my brainstorms became brain floods, I latched on to this particular approach to help organize and prioritize my efforts - my own personal floatation device.

Chris has received rave reviews from the first two groups of participants in April and May.

Today marks the 3rd launch of Chris' Empire Building Kit and my 30th day in the program. Great things to come!
